Yesterday afternoon it was finally time to get new tires put on our van. We had some errands to run while we were out so it became a family outing. The kids were absolutely fascinated when they saw our van in the garage with no wheels. They practically glued themselves to this door in anticipation of what would happen next!
I love to look at how my kids react to the world around them and imagine, once again, what the world must look like from their perspective. They find fascination in the littlest things and things that don't seem to be a big deal really become something to talk about in their little worlds.
What Alexandra thought the popcorn popper would do to her? I don't know!
I cringed at the thought of having to pay for 4 new tires for the van. On the other hand, the kids saw it as an exciting opportunity to watch our car get taken away, stripped of the old wheels, and made all new again. Then they admired the tires when we went to get back in the car.
Thank goodness for kids and the fresh perspective they give me. :)

So proud of you for being willing to take all your kids to get new tires. I'm glad they were so occupied with the fascinating procedure! Kids do just make you stop and see things a little differently! Hope Alexandra gets used to the popcorn popper, it's that time of year when movies and popcorn just sound good ALL the time!
I love the fresh perspective and I wish it could be as easy as that. We do have to keep on top of the bills, but I think we adults could stop and smell the roses quite a bit more than we do. Kids are wonderful for reminding us of those things.
I think their reactions are so funny. Kids are amazed by the funniest thing...umm I like caramel popcorn (hint) hahahahah
I don't think my kids would be that fascinated with tires. I wish they would be. I think the only way they would be is if cartoon characters were the ones putting the tires on.
It doesn't need to be cartoon characters for me, or my kids for that matter. My husband is fascinated by tires being put on a vehicle. When we walk by the tires in Sam's Club he takes in a deep breath of that new tire rubber smell ... sigh ...
Thank goodness that kids can find excitement in the little things. Now, as far as I'm concerned I hate to wait at the car or tire shop, plus it is no fun to pay those bills.
Not my idea of fun either! I'd rather pay the bill of a nice new wardrobe. :) Like that's gonna happen!
I think my kids would have watched for about 3 seconds. They do love seeing the car washed though!=)
