Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Yesterday we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. When we were getting ready to go things were kind of crazy. We were hurrying to get out the door. I had the kids get their shoes and go out to the car. All the kids went out and got buckled while Jeremy and I tried to hurry and gather up the few remaining things we would need for a day out. When we got to the temple, Nathan got out of the back of the van all ready to go. Do you see what I saw? Wow! He was very obedient! He got his shoes and went out to the car! Unfortunately I never saw his feet until we arrived.

Other than the cool look sported by Nathan, we had a really good experience walking through the temple. I loved the setup of the temple and everything inside was gorgeous! I enjoy the opportunity to explain different parts of the temple to my kids as we tour.

We did get a few pictures of the outside of the temple. This is the back of the temple.

Grandma Lynda came with us and we loved having her come along!
This is our best picture of the front of the temple. The temple is so tall it was a challenge to get a close-up picture of the family in front of the temple and also include the angel Moroni.
I really appreciated the little tips by Shauna of a few things to look for. Seeing the reflection of Christ in the baptismal font was probably my favorite part of the tour. I also loved the chandeliers! Oh, and the Celestial Room is absolutely amazing. OK, you will have to go if you haven't had a chance to yet. It was definitely worth the trip.

I love Nathan's ensemble. We are planning to go to the open house when we come up there. I am really looking forward to it.

Too funny about the shoes. One Sunday we did the same thing with telling the boys to get their shoes and they both wore their snow boots - in April! They looked really silly!

That's the first time I've seen a picture of that temple. It's very pretty. We are going to see it in July and I'm super excited! That's funny about Nathan's shoes. Recently Lahela put her own shoes on for church, and I didn't realize until we got there that she was wearing two different shoes. Kids are so funny!

We had our tour of the temple. It is beautiful and so peaceful. You only get one cookie this time, so pick wisely. That's a nice setting for your family picture.
