Dophin's Cove

On Thursday we woke up in Las Vegas and went for a swim for an hour. We promised the kids we would swim there. It was so hot even in the morning that the swim felt wonderful! Unfortunately our time was limited because of our check-out time, so we had to go back to the room, shower, and pack up.

Once we were in the car, we left Las Vegas on our way to California and DISNEYLAND! We did make a short stop in Barstow to shop at the outlets. Jeremy didn't give me a birthday present yet because I told him I would just look at the outlets for something. I did find what I was looking for - some new workout clothes. Finally! My old workout clothes are looking pretty old. Especially my home-made shorts that I made by cutting off some sweats. We also stopped there to eat at In-N-Out Burger. This is Jeremy's favorite place to eat. It's a luxury since we don't have one nearby, and it's probably good that we don't. Their burgers and fries are so good! Even Athena and Samantha liked them. After eating we took off for our final destination.

It only took us 4 hours in the car until we arrived at Dolphin's Cove. We stayed at Dolphin's Cove for 8 days. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of this resort because I just got real busy moving kids and stuff around. We really enjoyed it though. The grounds were really pretty and it felt quaint. Every courtyard was a garden of pretty plants and brick walkways. I did manage to get a picture of the sign when we arrived.

I also pulled this picture from another website - a view of the pool and clubhouse.

We had plenty of space here, which was nice. We needed to spread out and give the kids some space. The girls shared a bedroom that had 2 single beds and Alexandra's crib. Nathan slept on a hide-a-bed that was in the couch. We had a kitchen, 2 baths, living room, dining room, and 2 bedrooms. Jeremy took these pictures of us in our beds one of the nights we were there. Here is Nathan where he slept on the hide-a-bed.

Athena and Samantha in their room. Alexandra slept in the corner in her playpen, but you can't see it in the pictures.

Last but not least, here I am getting into bed. Woo hoo!
I was really surprised during this trip that we didn't have a single problem with the kids going to bed at night. I thought it would be a fight because we were on vacation and the surroundings weren't familiar, but every night they would run right to their beds and didn't even come out. Even Nathan would go curl up on his hide-a-bed when we pulled it out and would just fall asleep. Either we over-exhausted them each day or they liked the excitement of a new bed. Maybe I should swap around their sleeping arrangements at home every 8 days and see if it works to get them to go to bed better at home. :)
